Moving to Canada 30 years ago, he settled in Hamilton after visiting friends and experiencing the strong Italian community present in the city. His original location was in Eastgate for 3 years before he moved to his Main St. location for 20 years. His move to Ottawa St. N. was to be in a more visible spot as he was aware of the trendy history of the street. He started to learn how to cut hair at 14, starting with sweeping the floor and watching his father's barber work. 26 years ago, the Oxford Mill Outlet on Ottawa Street N opened its doors. As a part of a larger chain in Ontario (with locations in Cambridge, St. Jacob's, Niagara Falls and Cookstown), the Hamilton store moved from the Stipley neighbourhood to Ottawa St. N as they wanted to be a part of the textile district. Chrystal, the store manager, says she enjoys the variety of customers that come through the store. Given that the store has been on the street for over 25 years, there are a lot of regulars that shop as well as new customers due to the increase of new residents in the Crown Point neighbourhood.
