Burger Lab Welcome Burger Lab to Ottawa Street N! Opening a small business can be challenging, but opening a small business in the midst of a global pandemic is definitely no easy feat. For the owners at Burger Lab this was an added challenge that they faced head on and didn’t let it stop them from opening their doors to the community on September 19th. Owner Cem Sam helped open Burger Lab’s Toronto location a few years ago with co-owner Matt Yilmaz. The business saw such success in Toronto in those few short years that the team decided to expand to Hamilton. Hammerhead's To owner Scott Forbes, becoming a chef was more than just a career choice, it was a passion that stemmed from a childhood love for cooking. While other kids his age were watching cartoons, Scott was more preoccupied by Julia Child’s The French Chef and The Galloping Gourmet. Scott was in high school during the early 90’s recession and knew finding a job in the food industry would be difficult without credentials. Poke Co.  Owners Judith and Peter opened their Ottawa Street Poke eatery on Dec 3rd 2019. A family owned and operated business -Peter does the cooking and Judith runs the front and back of house. Both Toronto transplants, they have spent years in the food and beverage industry and eventually found themselves commuting out of the city each day for work.
